Use main-site url for storage server or storage server url ? Different in bandtwith use?

Hi, watched the tutorial video https://yetishare.com/file_server_tutorial.html .
Have a question: If you add a new Server with Remote Direct, add your fileserver domain name and set "Use Main Site Url -on Yes" , is the bandtwith use on main site bigger, then if you have set "Use Main Site Url -on Off" ? So is the bandtwith go threw main or storage server ? Or nothing to do with the bandtwith and Yetishare handle this automaticaly to the storage server, even you use the main site url?

Hi,

It's handled automatically, so the download bandwidth is still used by the file server in both instances. When using the main site domain name it does a redirect to the file server download after any download pages, adverts etc.

That said, it's no longer an option in the latest release, it's always set to 'yes'. There was some issues with CORS when it was set to 'no' in certain instances and the option is rarely used.

Sure, have a look in the database table 'file_server'. There's a column called 'routeViaMainSite', set this to 1.
