How do I install Plowshare4 on my ubuntu 12.04 vps ?

How do I install Plowshare4 on my ubuntu 12.04 vps ?

I have tried:

 $ add-apt-repository ppa:plowsharepackagers/ppa
$ apt-get update
$ apt-get install plowshare

But it complains about dependencies for a few programs and also says my curl is version 7.22 and is to old and should be 7.24 instead. :!:

How do I upgrade to curl 7.24 :?:

I also tried :

$ git clone https://code.google.com/p/plowshare/ plowshare4
$ cd plowshare4
$ sudo make install

but when i type:

$ plowdown http://www.mediafire.com/?868x893f1zlndtfj18sopxvmlo9mtbl

curl: --compressed is not supported by this version of curl
curl: out of memory

I get the above error.

Does anyone know how to install Plowshare4 on Ubuntu 12.04 :?:

I would like to get Plowshare working so I can buy the 'file leech plugin'.

apt-get install php5-curl
