I would like to install google analytics in the front pages, and tried a few positions at footer or header. However, google analytics always returned a message that the tracking code was not installed successfully.

Status: Tracking Not Installed

The Google Analytics tracking code has not been detected on your website's home page. For Analytics to function, you or your web administrator must add the code to each page of your website.

Do anybody know how to install it correctly?

Thank you very much. I've tried this position, and I could see the code placed right in the source code, but still got the "not installed" message.

I found that it's possibly google's own problem. Though the "not installed" message is still there, Analytics starts to receive some data and this part seems work correctly.
