force file download

i've been getting complaints that when people try to download a video file that it will try to stream on their media player instead of just downloading like a regular file.

is there a tweak i can do or a setting i can change to for files to download as regular files?

i don't think there is an option in the website for this. i think its the web browser setting.. unless you have a media player plugin for your website.

media player plugin doesn't stream in the users media player but rather on his website, unless he didn't describe the issue properly, I doubt he's got the media player plugin enabled and then asking why media is playing.

Its probably browser settings like you mentioned, there's no way the site can control what peoples browsers are setup to do with certain file types
