Change 60 second count-down?? ?? (Download Page Template) :(

Hello

#A). I cannot see a single setting for GUEST, FREE, PAID user types, where you can change the wait time which appears to be hard coded to 60 seconds. I am having a lot of trouble finding things like this. And also going back and finding settings I already edited. But regarding the 60 seconds....

You can only change values like: Wait time between downloads, Simultaneous downloads, Max bandwidth, etc...

#B). The settings page titles/names of these settings really need improving. They don't even have any translation data. (Not in English!)
Just "variable_name_example_free_user". That means nothing to me, and if I spoke French or Spanish It would be impossible to translate.

#C). Also, it makes the column for the description very cramped... If the left column with the title did not have the under scores (_) then it could wrap and be 150px wide (example).

#D). Perhaps if the settings names were: FREE - Download - xxxxxxxxx, then you could sort the settings by name, and all settings would be grouped together. Currently they are all mixed up and in no particular order.

TITLE
non_user_wait_between_downloads == Guest ("non-logged in" using your terminology) Wait Time Between Downloads
or == Guest - Download - Wait Time Interval

This means it can be sorted by TITLE, all GUEST and DOWNLOAD will match up! So simple, but so helpful!

DESCRIPTION
How long a non-logged in user must wait between downloads == Interval guests must wait between downloads.

VALUES
Drop-Down Box: Disable, 1, 2, 5, 10, 30, 60, User-Defined.
Drop-Down Box: Seconds, Minutes.
If User-Defined, display input box with value changer [__].
:D

Thank you.

Re: Change the 60 seconds count-down? Settings Disorganised!

Guest - Download - Wait Time Interval

What I am getting at is that ALL GUEST SETTINGS will be grouped together, as the setting title is Guest. Then all Download related settings, then Upload; where all Upload related settings are together.

Just seems like a straight forward and simple approach.

If you need help with this, I am happy to offer my proof-reading and grammatical skills to get this resolved. :D

EXAMPLE 1 - Concise.
accepted_upload_file_types === General - File Types
advert_delayed_redirect_bottom === General - Adverts - Bottom
advert_delayed_redirect_top === General - Adverts - Top
advert_site_footer === General - Adverts - Footer

EXAMPLE 2 - Sorting + Concise.
default_email_address_from === Email - Default Address
default_email_address_from === Email - Account Registration
site_admin_email === Email - Notifications
site_contact_form_email === Email - Contact Forms
report_abuse_email === Email - Abuse, DMCA & Complaints

Do you see how that groups ALL email together? First letters are currently d, d, r, s, s. Now they are e, e, e, e, e. Sorted alphabetically (current default) they are all together.

NOTE:
You may notice you have TWO settings with the same identifier.
default_email_address_from == The default email address to send emails from.
and
default_email_address_from == The email address new account registrations will be sent from.

??? Which will be the default email address for sending emails???
How do they differ from the "site_admin_email" ??? The site administrator has their own email address under their profile!

EDIT:
Hopefully, this will allow the "Guest - Download - Wait Timer Interval" and "Free - Download - Wait Timer Interval" configuration setting to be found!!! :D

Re: Change the 60 seconds count-down? Settings Disorganised!

Long posts, but I'll do my best help...

A) It's in Manage Download Page section.
B) Each setting has a description, you don't need to rely on the key... I'm not sure how we could improve this?
C) Still pretty readable. Clicking the 'edit' button will show it in the popup on one line.
D) They are grouped. Click 'Non User Settings' to view and the Non User Settings. Click 'Premium User Settings' to view all the Premium User Settings.

I'm not following your other examples. While I appreciate your feedback there's no plans to amend the settings page at the moment.

Please submit any request for changes in the RFCs section so they're captured for review on the next release.

Re: Change the 60 seconds count-down? [Download Page Templat

Change Wait Time From 60 Seconds to ..x.. Seconds?
Visit Admin Page --> ../admin/download_page_manage.php

Edit the "Free" (registered) and "Guest" (visitor) items and change the Download Page template and the number of seconds. You can also create "Paid" (registered + paid) entry, and choose the download page template.
Good luck! :D

BUG REPORT:
download page Guest (Page 1) _download_page_compare_timed.inc.php edit | delete
download page Free User (Page 1) _download_page_compare_timed.inc.php edit | delete
Showing 1 to 1 of 1 entries

When I edited the entry and gave it the same template as another User/Level, it just removed it from the page.
After then trying to add a 3rd User/Level, and setting it to the same page template as an existing entry, it just kept removing the other item.
Strange! Now, I just went to try it again. This time it is not doing it. However, now I can create 3 x Guest (User/Level) and set it to all 3 page templates....???? What the hell???

How can I fix this?

Screenshot 1 - How is that possible? 3.5.1 3 same user level and 3 same numbers. 1 1 1.

Screenshot 2b - Adding one more entry, it doesn't go into position 4, but instead inserts it self into position 2?

SUMMARY:
Before, I could not set the same page template to TWO User/Level entries with the same template name (drop-down), without another disappearing.
Now, I can create 3 Guests, Free and Paid user levels, and all 3 different page template names...

OTHER NOTES:
Note: I noticed the page uses Ajax which is great. But there is no Save / Cancel buttons to undo changes. Request!?
Note: It seems strange that all the other GUEST / FREE / PAID settings are under the general configuration, yet these settings are here and separate to the others... Any future plans to group all settings? (Similarly as I suggested with the common and more organised setting names that followed a pattern.)
Error: "You cannot use certain BBCodes: ."[/i] Not sure if you were aware of it. Thank you.

Would you like me to make another post regarding the Duplicate Setting Name?
It's a support question - help with "which does what"?
I am not trying to be picky. I just can't stand things being ... over-complicated or convoluted.
Thanks

Re: Change 60 second count-down?? ?? (Download Page Template

Hi,

default_email_address_from - this will be fixed on the next release. Ensure they match for now.
site_admin_email - this is used for receiving system notifications to admin.

download page issues - we'll investigate this. In the mean time you can see the data directly in the 'download_page' table in the database. The page_order has been known to sometimes get messed up in 3.5.1. Not sure what version you are on. Eitherway you should be able to fix it by editing the column directly for now.

Note: I noticed the page uses Ajax which is great. But there is no Save / Cancel buttons to undo changes. Request!?
>>> Yes please add to the RFCs and it'll be reviewed for the next release.

>>> Not at the moment. We could link from the settings page to here. We'd also considered linking to plugin settings from here too. If you submit in the RFCs it wont get missed. :)

Error: "You cannot use certain BBCodes: ." Not sure if you were aware of it. >>> Sorry I don't understand this one?

Re: Change 60 second count-down?? ?? (Download Page Template

Thanks for adding that to your to-do list. I'll keep both emails the same.
Yes I'm using 3.5.1, I think it is in the screenshots I attached. I am not aware of any updates.

download page issues - editing the column directly? Oh you mean the mysql table.

So I create a REFC request for each of these things? or can I create one grouped RFC?

Ok, thanks for considering the request for streamlining and grouping the settings.

p.s. I'm not too good at following through with this stuff, posting to rfc's. I barely get enough time to report these issues preventing us from going live with collaboration. Will try...

Error: "You cannot use certain BBCodes: ." Not sure if you were aware of it. >>> Sorry I don't understand this one? BBCODE is used by your forum. [url] is a tag to make a hyperlink. There are others for [b]bold[/b], [i]italics[/i], [14]font sizes[/14], ... yes? Your website or forum, whatever its called, wouldn't let me insert url. Doesn't matter.

v3.5.2 was out last week on yetishare.com. Keep track of releases here:

http://yetishare.com/release_history.html?item=44
or via RSS:
http://yetishare.com/rss.php
or via Twitter (post added soon)
https://twitter.com/YetiShare

We don't email for every release so the above would be the best methods.

Yes fine to group them together on the RFCs.

Ah yes, the forum wont allow urls by design. It's to stop spamming. Although you can still post it, just not link it in.
