I think this zip feature should be done in the background, have a queue just like the remote upload. There is also issues with files in different servers.
the archive manager can be ran on a remote server, or on the same server as the file servers.. personally ive got the archive manager running on a seperate remote server..
and yeah, if my site got hugely popular and there were hundreds of people zipping up files, then id have to run the archive manager on multiple remote servers, crunching archives all day
Just like media converter.. If many people are uploading videos, then id have to run many converter servers or servers that just sit there and convert
but my request still remains: If on windows shell you can right click on a folder and zip it up and produce a .zip file right there.. then it makes 100% sense to be able to right click on a folder on yetishare account and produce a zip file on the account for that folder
