Would like to know why there isn't any information about skins used for the video player, i.e. what files to edit to replace the skin with one of the other two or install a new one. Any help on this would be nice, as we are not all code writers.

The media players are from a third party so you should be able to find resources on their sites. All the media player code will be in plugins/mediaplayer/ within the script. Depending on which player you use:
