Videos don't seem to buffer on yetishare script. So if you pause the video, the bar doesn't keep loading and loading further down and down

The progress doesn't expand. So people on slow connections, the video lags for them

If the system was setup so that it buffered, a person can hit pause, and watch the bar increase, increase, increase, thus making it easier for them

that's not true, it does buffer, you can try it out yourself on the demo site, some users including myself have reported that buffering doesn't work for them. Someone on another thread has said its most likely some sort of server issue. I personally haven't found a solution.

Im using the jplayer as i dont have a license for the jwplayer, and the jplayer doesnt seem to buffer for me, i temporarily switched over to jwplayer to test this issue and it didn't buffer either

You say it does buffer, but then go on to say it doesn't buffer. And I've tried on the demo site, http://i.imgur.com/eUIeA1B.png it doesnt go past that as you can see.. And that video/file on the demo site was a small one at that..

I contend it doesn't buffer, as I'm getting tons of complaints all the time about slow laggy blah blah. It's not slow and laggy for me, but I suspect that becuase it doesn't buffer, it doesnt make the streaming video experience any good for slow connection users. If it buffered, they could pause and wait a bit.. and would be able to watch easier. but since there is no buffering, it makes it worse for the slow connect people.

I just tried in a virtual machine, doesn't buffer there either. Just tried firefox as well, seems to happen in both chrome and firefox.. so i can only conclude it doesnt buffer.

It might be a jwplayer issue, ive just briefly searched and found https://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/questions/5404003-jw-player-buffering-sucks

have to go to sleep, but will look more into it, maybe i need to switch to videojs

ok so i updated to a higher version of php and now buffering works slightly, doesnt buffer the whole file if you pause but about an inch or so ahead, also this seems to work on jwplayer, jplayer doesnt buffer or isnt indicating that atleast

"If you pause its about an inch or so ahead"

Thats how it is for me right now and i havent upgraded anything, running php 5 still

I've had users report that it doesnt buffer

So i might look into videoJS and hope that solves the issue

I took a video and converted it to 1400k instead of the typical 2000k -- I notice now that the video buffers , but only as the video plays. a small amount. If you pause the video, it doesnt keep buffering and thats the main issue

not sure why its happening for you. i convert my videos at 1000K rate and i am using PHP 5.6.14 and i paused the video and it buffered all the way to the end..
Not sure if its the PHP version or the speed on the server? it works for me..
