Media player plugin add more filetypes

I have media player setup on my file hosting website and it is working great but i got 2 issues:

• 1. How to add more video filetypes to that dropdown list. i know jwplayer plays a lot more vidoe types but i guess our media player is limited, i would like to add 3gp, Mov and maybe more popular filetypes.

• 2. When i play mkv files (this is the only 1 i came across so far), the video player skin changes to an old style and when i play say mp4 or webm, the player looks good, so not sure why playing a specific filetype changes the player skin.

Any ideas??
