I have been receiving 404 errors on my site and noticed I don't have a .htaccess file in the downloaded package or on my site. I'm using Windows 8 Pro so can you send me the htaccess file please?

Hi,
The .htaccess file is part of the zip download although Windows 8 may hide files starting with a dot by default. You'll be able to change this in folder options via the control panel.
