Have you any idea's how to stop the twitter bots clicks?

We a link yesterday by clicking on it exactly 20 times and the reporting came back as 20.
We then created a new link and placed it on Twitter, instantly it reached 19 clicks, all bots.
I've had a mess around with the htaccess file but I'm not sure if this is used in the redirect part of the script, any advance or tips would be great.

Thanks

Colin

Hi Colin,

I've sent you an email, but just so everyone else is aware...

There's an addition to the release coming at the end of this month which will allow you to set a config value that will only count the visit from an IP address once. So any bot visits should only be counted one time.

Hopefully this should help with the skewed reporting.

Adam.

I'm curious about this as well. Seems like my stats are very inflated due to exceedingly high Twitter stats. Thanks!

Hi,

Yes, have a look in the admin area/settings for the setting:

"Revisits in the same day, by the same IP address will not be counted on stats."

Change this to 'yes' and it should limit the bots.

Adam.
