I reached out to Comodo cwatch as I use there CDN and I request a CDN url. They provided me with the CDN url. Technically, are the thumbs nails and previews now being routed using the CDN or is the site cache option still doing that?

Yes, if you've set the CDN url on the file server it'll be used to serve thumbnails and previews instead of the server cache.

You should be able to right-click on the file manager thumbnails and see they're being routed via the CDN url.
